Firefox Web Browser

Back

The Firefox web browser is the latest offering from the 'open-source' community, Mozilla. Previously, it was known as Firebird, a browser I never felt happy using.

Firefox is a different beast!

It's fast, it's efficient. Currently, the Firefox browser is in the earlier stages of development so the full 'product' is a little ways off yet.

Having said that, from what I have seen of it so far, this is a powerful, fast and efficient browser with the option of adding a whole raft of extra features from the Firefox website and a great potential.

Once the full product becomes available, then expect to see this browser receive rave reviews.

There are still a few small bugs and wrinkles to iron out but overall, this is an excellent little browser which is going to push the boundaries and is worth giving a whirl, particularly as an additional browser.

Update: Firefox is now released as version 1.0. On writing, this darling of the web professional has been downloaded over 25 million times!

The tabbed browsing ability of Firefox is simply genius! Open tabs instead of new windows and jump effortlessly between them. I love it! Can you tell?
