Finding
Inspiration
Where do you look for inspiration when building a website?
Luckily, there are some amazing web sites around which can inspire you
to greater creativity.
Website
Design and Layout
Many web creation programs incorporate at least some templates
with which you can begin to create a first site.
The best way is to just jump on in there and try things out.
Hey! If you don't like what you've done, you can always change it. No
big deal. By using templates, you can concentrate more on the content
of your website.
Templates
If you want a look or feel for a site but just can't seem to see the
right template or design, why not head on over to one of the many free
template sites available for a look there?
It is even worth browsing through some of the paid for templates
sections on sites such as
templatemonster.com to gain some inspiration.
Graphics
Believe it or not, you don't have to 'borrow' graphics. There are many
resources available on the internet which offer free graphics and
photos. One resource is more familiar than you may think: Microsoft.
You can obtain free graphics here:
Microsoft Office Clip Art and Media

Another place to look for some inspiration for creating a website is
to use a search engine such as
Google, and search the topic(s) you are interested in.
- What makes those web sites attractive to you?
- What do you not like about them?
- What do you like about them?
- What would you change if you could?
Place yourself in the shoes of potential visitors to your website
and think about what they might say if they were doing the same thing
when viewing your website. |
