Avonex ®  Unknowns

(interferon beta-1a)

Nursing Mothers

It is not known whether Avonex ® is excreted in human milk.

Since many drugs are excreted in human breast milk, and because of the potential of serious adverse reactions in nursing infants, a decision should be made to either discontinue nursing or to discontinue Avonex ®.
