Multiple Sclerosis

Depression, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts have been reported to occur with increased frequency in patients receiving interferon compounds to treat multiple sclerosis.

Spontaneous Abortion

 
Spontaneous abortion occurred in 4 patients who participated in Betaseron ® trials, however it is not known whether Betaseron was related to these events.

Pregnant women should be advised that there may be a risk of potential hazard to the fetus should interferon therapy be continued.

Discontinuation of therapy is advised.
