cheilitis

Definition:

  • cheilitis - inflammation of the lip or lips.

Angular cheilitis is common, usually caused by infection, often a yeast, and is easily managed, whereas actinic cheilitis is uncommon and considered a pre-cancerous condition resulting from too much exposure to sunlight.
